Wishing you all a happy new year, friends. As John Lennon wrote, "let’s hope it’s a good one without any fear" - yes, let’s hope.

So - when I wrote an album in 2020 called Birds of Florida, little did I know four years later I'd spend an afternoon at Nancy's Secret Garden Parrot Rescue in Key West.

From Nancy Forrester herself i learned that 1) parrots can live to be over 80 years old 2) they can identify colors and numbers and 3) have the intelligence of a 5 year old human child. I also learned they like female singers, or, at least her parrots do :)

Here's a bit of what happened:

I'm looking forward to more Florida discoveries this weekend at the 30A Festival, then Fogartyville in Sarasota end of the month. Feb 22 will be my first show in Santa Fe since, like, 1995 and I'm thrilled to get back to this amazing town. Then the Cayamo Cruise and East Lansing and Houston and Columbus OH and Indianapolis and Saint Louis and Chicago and all of it’s below.
